Join us at 8:00pm on Wednesday 27th January for BUILDING CITIZENS' BRITAIN with Dr Ian Kearns.
Salisbury Liberal Democrats are delighted to invite you to an evening of stimulating discussion on Building Citizens’ Britain: A country where every voice is heard, and where we work together to solve the problems we face.
We shall hear from Dr Ian Kearns, Director of Social Liberal Forum, about SLF’s mission to ‘campaign for a Citizens' Britain, one characterised by a massive transfer of power from remote and unaccountable corporations and state institutions to people and their communities.’
With data from the latest report: Citizens' Britain: a radical agenda for the 2020s, Dr Kearns will talk us through SLF’s vision for building communities that truly are run by those communities.
Given the current state of British Politics, as well, as international events, this is truly timely work and a conversation to be a part of.
Dr Ian Kearns has over 25 years of experience working in the public, private and NGO sectors, the last 15 of them in organizational leadership positions. He is a former Deputy Director and Acting Director of the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), one of Britain's leading progressive public policy think-tanks.
Ian has written for The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, Newsweek, The New Statesman and many other outlets around the world and has been a frequent commentator on policy issues on the BBC and other major UK and international media outlets.
His book, Collapse: Europe after the European Union, (a warning that the EU could collapse with catastrophic consequences if not reformed), was published by Biteback in April 2018. More recently, his publications include: Data Driven Policing and Public Value, AI and the Disruption of World Politics, and Keynes and Kearns: Am I a Liberal?
Entrance is £15, which covers everybody who wishes to safely gather around your screen.
Once you've signed up, we'll send you a link to the Zoom meeting.
